The SUERF Annual Lecture
The SUERF Annual Lecture was first held in 1992 and since its inception a succession of eminent speakers have delivered the Annual Lecture on a variety of topics around Europe. Tradition has dictated that the Lecturer does not give the Lecture in his/her country of origin - and to date this has only been waived on one occasion, when Governor Trichet of the Banque de France delivered the 2003 SUERF Annual Lecture in his last speaking engagement prior to becoming President of the European Central Bank, in conclusion of SUERF's 40th Anniversary Seminar, held in the Galérie Dorée at the Banque de France.
