The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) – Economic Department (ECON), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEES
Duration: 6 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

Objective of the traineeship
The objective of the traineeship is twofold. The Economics Department will benefit from the knowledge and specific technical skills of the trainees in tasks that are labour-intensive, including the development and management of macroeconomic, microeconomic and financial databases, and econometric and statistical analysis. This requires specialised knowledge that is typical for students who have graduated with a Master of Science or are enrolled PhD programme in economics or finance. You will benefit from the opportunity to work in an international financial institution, gain valuable work experience and insights into economic, financial and policy analysis, establish professional contacts and gain knowledge on the functioning of the EIB.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a (senior) economist of the Economics Department, you will carry out work related to various projects, such as the development and management of macroeconomic, microeconomic and financial databases, economic analysis for the preparation of the EIB Investment Report and other reports of the Department, the EIB Investment Survey (EIBIS), the EIB municipality survey, the CESEE bank lending survey, the EIB Banking in Africa Survey, internal models for sovereign risk rating and bank industry risk ratings, and macroeconomic scenarios, among others.
