Jan Schildbach is Director and Head of the Banking, Financial Markets and Regulation team at Deutsche Bank Research in Frankfurt. He joined Deutsche Bank in 2007 as Senior Economist, covering European banking systems and structures, before becoming Head of Banking, Financial Markets and Regulation in 2014. Jan has published extensively on bank performance and corporate funding trends as well as capital markets topics and regulatory developments. Furthermore, his research focuses on banking strategies and business models. In addition to external publications, his work comprises support for Deutsche Bank’s Management Board, business units and customers as well as representing the Bank vis-à-vis policymakers and the public. Jan was a Research Fellow at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies and is an alumnus of the Wilton Park British-German Forum as well as the Young Leaders Conferences of the Dräger Foundation and the American Council on Germany. He studied Economics at the Universities of Mannheim and Bayreuth and the Helsinki School of Economics.
